Sorterra is an automated, microfluidics-based cell isolation and concentration system for research and development and clinical research labs. With less than five minutes of preparation required, Sorterra isolates white blood cells from 3-75 ml of peripheral blood at a rate of 150 ml/hour. Cells are separated in microfluidic channels without the use of centrifugation or beads, minimizing perturbation of cells. The automated technology reduces the impact of site and operator variability, a common challenge to scaling research.
The Micromedicine Sorterra instrument is a 2019 IDA Award Honorable Mention recipient.
